Changed boundaries make Hemel Hempstead winnable for Labour

The next General Election in Hemel Hempstead will be fought on new parliamentary boundaries following a decision made by the independent Boundary Commission for England. The review considered population increases and the views of local residents.

The changes make Hemel Hempstead a close race between the Conservatives and Labour’s David Taylor. Labour have categorised the new seat as a ‘battle ground’ and have already selected David Taylor as their candidate.

According to recent polling Labour is on 40.6% and the Conservatives on 39.6%. The Liberal Democrats trail on 10.9% and are expected to focus their campaigning elsewhere.
